Plane Ride
This is the first of the pictures from our trip to the farm. I want to get a lot of them posted….I’ll try to be consistent on posting at least one a day for a while. Maybe by the time I get done with those, I’ll feel like picking up a camera again and taking some new pictures.
Thank you ALL for your wonderful and kind words. They mean a lot to me.

Picture - a - Day will be indefinitely on hold.
My dad passed away unexpectedly on Friday.
I may post some pictures from our trip if I need something to distract me….
I’d smash every bit of camera equipment I own if it meant I could have my dad back

I will be spending the next two weeks out of town in the wild farm country that is my ancestral land (makes it sound so special that way huh? Instead of just saying “I’ll be in the middle of nowhere on the recently denuded hayfields of the family 4o acres”). I’m sure by now you have realized that there will be no wifi out there in the rural farmlands. Not that I have a laptop, so I couldn’t take advantage of wifi if there was any.
All of this babbling has a point: RWS picture a day will be sitting here stuck at this point on July 11th for a couple of weeks. I know you will be sad. But just think! When I get back there will be tons of farm pictures to enjoy! It’ll be Totally Worth the Wait!
Did I sell you on it? I tried. At least give me an A for effort here.
P.S. Please don’t rob my house while I’m gone. There’s really nothing here to steal since I’m taking all of the High $$$ camera gear with me. So it’s not worth the effort unless you want a crappy TV I paid $99 for at Wallie-Mart a year ago. There is nothing to see here. My neighbor across the street has a HUGE plasma TV. I suggest you go there instead. Kthxbye.

Child Labor Laws? Never Heard of ‘Em
(Note: Yes, I make my children help me clean the bathrooms. I especially make the boychild clean his own toilet and the floor AROUND his own toilet. Boys are So! Gross! You can never start to young when it comes to training your slave labor.)
(Note2: They aren’t very good at it yet, so I usually follow right after them doing the work for real. And we learn Safety Around Chemicals, too. So I feel it’s edjumacashunal.)

Present Presenter
(She brings me “presents” while I’m working so that I have “something fun to do”… My desk is almost always covered in about 45 bits of this and that. Right now it has the entire alphabet in magnetic letters, 10 hotwheels cars, 3 section of Thomas the Train, a mini hackey-sack soccer ball, mom, baby, and 5 pieces of furniture from her plastic doll house, and 2 fish from that annoying fishing game where it spins and you have to use your plastic fishing rod to “catch” the fish…. )

I’m so sorry! I know I’ve been really behind and definitely not on the ball. I think I lost the ball. It’s around here somewhere. Possibly under the piles and piles of paperwork on my desk. It might possibly also be in my email inbox. Stuff goes in. Stuff never comes out. It’s the blackhole for stuff.
Anyway, because of my loss of proper ballage, I bring to you a Three-Fer. Three pics on one day to let you in on what happened in 10 minutes of my life.
Here they are for your viewing pleasure.

My Children are Like Monkeys: I said look at the camera…this is what they did

Story Time
(Note: Notice the dog? There is a cat on the other side of the bed not pictured. It was mighty full at that moment in time)
(Note2: also note that I am holding the camera over my head using my left hand…I have mad skillz.)

Sefl-Portrait Tuesday on Wednesday: Dress
(Note1: I realize that is the most uncreative name for this picture. I apologize. I had many other options. The one that made me crack up at myself the most: “Wrinkled like my love for him”. In the end, I decided “dress” was the safest one.)
(Note2: Anyone need a wedding dress, beautiful condition, size Back-Before-I-Had-Two-Children-And-Two-Years-Of-Comfort-Eating? Seriously, I barely fit into this thing on my wedding day. I think it might be size 0 or possibly 2? It WAS size 4 when I bought it, but the seamstress assumed I would lose some sort of extra weight before the wedding. Since I had no extra weight to lose, that didn’t happen. It was a wee bit OMG!ICAN’TBREATHE! on the day of the big event. All of that to say, have any skinny friends getting married anytime soon who’d like a dress?)
(Note3: Play “spot the kitty”! It’s fun! He’s there! Look close!)

Too close, Kitty?
(Note1: a student requested that I put lens used and focal length on my images on here for a while, so I’ll include some of that info here at the bottom for a month or so….. but if you want to know and I don’t post it, feel free to ask in the comments and I’ll go hunt it down. It’s not that I’m against sharing it, I’m just too lazy to look it up every time.
)
(Note2: I’m shooting with a Canon 5d, which has a full frame sensor. Anything below a 5D body has an APS-C sensor. This affects the field of view of a lens…. meaning that what is 20mm on my 5D has a filed of view like a 32mm on any of the non-full-frame Canon bodies. Nikon bodies would have a field of view of 30mm, since the crop factor for a Nikon (1.5x) is different from a Canon (1.6x). If you’re not confused yet, good for you. But I just needed to say it.)
