To Edit or Not to Edit
that is the question:
Whether ’tis nobler of the photographer to suffer
The colors and tones of in-camera processing,
Or to take arms against a sea of washed out colors,
And by over-editing, end them?
I could go on, but I shall spare you.
(to die! to sleep!…. )
(is it little wonder I like Shakespeare! SO NEEDLESSLY DRAMATIC!)
(I mean really…sleep or die? those are the options? that’s all you have?)
(Okay, yes, I know, they were metaphors, but still….)
(more parenthetical asides? I got them cheap on ebay!)
Note (finally, she might be serious?): I BELIEVE this MIGHT be my childhood wagon? With my mom and dad you just never know…. they could have got it at a garage sale or purchased it at a car swap meet to help drag around piles of other rusty stuff? I know we DID have a wagon like this…so maybe? At any rate, it is filled with dirt because my mom now uses it as the dirt hauler for wandering around the back yard and filling in the holes her zany dog has dug. Rumor is the dog has “outgrown” the hole digging thing, but I found another one out there tonight…so I’m not really buying what my mom is selling…
Note2: Could I possibly have edited this more?? I posted both the edited version and the straight-out-o’-the-camera version just for kicks and giggles so ya’ll can compare and give me a shout out on which you prefer — over-edited or under-whemling. I leave the call up to you.
Note3: Note2 is a not-so-subtle hint to leave a comment.

I prefer the more sooc version
How cool to find your childhood wagon (we can hope, lol!)
I can take a hint…
sooc for me!
e
Yes, that is your childhood wagon, and yes, it did come from a garage sale before we gave it to you. It’s a good wagon. The dirt….. I didn’t put it there. Your kiddos did. They have been slowly filling it up and I haven’t bothered to empty it. AND……. isn’t there a middle ground between under whelming and over edited????
I actually think I’d prefer the edited version with a little less burning in the upper right corner.
Ok, ok, I can take a hint, too.
I prefer somewhere between overwhelming and underwhelming!
I
I am preferring the earthy tones of the SOOC version vs. the edited version. (your childhood wagon has taken on a bit of an unsafe “glow”
)
As for Mom, please tell her to bury the dog’s #2’s in the holes. That is what our vet recommended for our digger and it worked like acharm. Crazy but true.
I like the edited shot better
I am with those who sit on the fence. Great shot!
i love the wood in the edited version, and to choose between them - I actually like the edited - which is not typical for me - so it must be the rust - LOVE rust! (just not on my car)
I usually go for sooc 9 times out of 10 but I’m digging the dramatic over edit on this. I think it looks cool. Sorta more like what it would look like to recall your childhood wagon in your memory that would it would really look like today in person. Anyway, I dig the drama for this one.
somewhere between SOOC and edited…so I am no help at all…
