The Fairy Dress Sagas Continue

Note: She is going to be looking through photos when she is 16 and ask if she ever had any other clothing besides this green ratty fairy dress that is falling apart before out very eyes.
Note2: The answer is NO. Obviously. Pictures don’t lie.

OH! HI!

Sorry. I didn’t see you there lurking in the corners thinking “where did she gooooo?”

Or I DID see you and thought, “please, pass me a tissue. And also some Claritin. And a ticket to the antartic where pollen creating things DO NOT GROW. I want to commune with the penguins.”

All of that to say, “Hey! I’m taking a week off! Because I can’t see the screen through all of the sneezing and coughing!”

At any rate, to make it up to you, I present multiple pictures in one post. YAY. I can think of only ONE PERSON who will be disappointed in this and that is Kimarie herself.

But you guys! She’s SO CUTE! And so Pregnant! and I didn’t ask her permission to post pictures of her on the interwebs, so hopefully she is also so NOT A SUING PERSON! YAY for NO LITIGATION!

She flew in from Ohio to be my first every guinea pig for a crash course in improving your general photography skills. If you remember correctly, I had Natasha in a few weeks ago for the first every One on One Flash Photography Day. Just trying it out to see if I like it and if they think it’s worth it and how it will all work out.

And enough with the talking already. More pictures. Less Words. Let’s go.

Also, she is apparently one of those people who can ONLY GO ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE FRAME.
Who knew.

Happy Easter!

Note: “How many eggs did the Easter Bunny bring you?”
Note2: I wish I had gotten a good picture of it, but they were moving way too fast and the results are not internet worthy by a long shot, but the Easter Bunny at our house leaves “magic footprints” so you can tell that he has come…little white footprints up the front walkway. When asked what the Easter Bunny looks like, because obviously Mommy gets to TALK to Mr. E. Bunny, the answer is “sorta smallish, but with a cute little top hat”
Note3: On occasions like this, I switch my camera to a more automatic mode. This morning’s mode o’ choice: Av — It’s just easier with all of the chaos to capture the Moments and not worry about the camera.

28-200mm lens @ 70mm | 1/25 @ f/5.0 | ISO 200
(I really should have upped the ISO there so the camera could pick a faster shutter speed. oh well.)

Zena: Not of the Warrior Princess Variety

Note: We spent Saturday working on my mom’s dishwasher. I DO have a picture of just my mom’s rear end as she bent crazy crooked around the dishwasher attempting to reach something, but I didn’t figure she would necessarily APPRECIATE having her bottom posted in the internet. So instead, I bring to you: My Mom’s Dog.
Note2: That vacant look in her eyes is SO VERY REAL. Somebody’s tree doesn’t go all the way to the top branch.

As if There Weren’t Already Enough Doras In Our World

Note: We played a bit of Dora’s Matching Game. Which is really kind of fun in a humorous way. I am REALLY BAD at this kind of game. So I’m pretty much on the same level with Elijah. He actually Usually BEATS the Crap outta me at these kind of games. Which he enjoys. I’m not the kind of mom that EVER “lets” them win. I’m like, “Earn it, Kid!” Of course, we also usually play games that rely heavily on change to even the playing field. The humorous part comes in that Katie loves to play this game but she spend the ENTIRE GAME flipping over the same three or four pieces. Of course, once those pieces get flipped over somewhere else, she knows EXACTLY where they are at. But you can’t play this game hinging all of your best on THREE pieces, people.
Note2: This is the WORLD’S HARDEST ROOM to get correct white balance in. There is just something about this room that makes the color all WHACK. It’s probably a combo of the green walls, the light reflecting off of the yellow brick wall outside, and the creamy/redish/brownish tiles on the floor.

85mm lens | 1/60 @ f/2.5 | ISO 500

Uniform Day

Note: somebody, I’m not saying names here, but SOMEBODY got their softball uniform today and the hat appears to be a permanent fixture.
Note2: Some days I just look at him and see his face in about 15 years looking out at me and I get scared, humbled, hopefilled, inspired, worried, and thankful. He’s just such a Great Kid.

I Think He Likes It

Note: Today, after running what seemed like approximately 10 gazillion errands, we came home and made strawberry banana smoothies. I hate banana, so I poured mine before we added the banana. Which meant I just had a yummy strawberry smoothie. Heaven after a hot afternoon of boring errands.
Note2: I believe he is laughing at Katie saying, in an oh so ladylike fashion, “There is SNOT in my smoothie!”
Note3: We really should make smoothies more often. They are so easy and also nutritious. Here’s our basic recipe:
in a blender combine– ice, vanilla yogurt, orange juice, strawberries, and bananas. Drink and be merry. The ice is sort of one of those things you can either add or not. We put it in because we want it REALLY COLD, but I’m sure you could leave it out and have a less, ummm, crunchy smoothie…which really does sound like an oxymoron. “Yes, waiter, I’d like the Crunchy Smoothie, please, along with a side of jumbo shrimp and boneless ribs. Thanks!”
