What a First Grader Looks Like
We had a bit of a rough start with teachers deciding to not take the class two days before school started and a weird substitute teacher for a week, but I think we’re home free with an amazing teacher now and it looks like it’s going to be a good year. So very proud of my boy!

Party Girl
We have way too much fun now that it’s just us girls at home every day.

First Day of First Grade
I think he’s excited? Maybe? Just a little bit?
(oh. wow. that’s big. LOL — once again, I seem to have screwed up my resize action. Hate it when that happens!)

Giggle Girl
Note: We spent this afternoon at the Chandler Mall with a couple of my Arizona students. Although at the end I wanted to sell my children, it was fun to get to finally meet Jen (HI JEN! THANKS FOR CALLING ME LAZY! haha) and to once again hang out with the wonderful and sweet Janelle. What a great day.
Note2: The kids are with their dad this weekend and that is probably a very good thing.

I loved yesterday’s light so much, I had to get in it myself
Note: Notice that I am trying to make it up to the yeasts of the world by consuming them in a different form…..

Yeast Killer
Note: I know. This is creepy. LOL
Note2: But I didn’t wait for the warmed mixture to cool down enough before I added it to my yeast mixture and I fried the little boogers.
Note3: Whoops.

Cocoa Beans — The first stage of the world’s most beautiful food: Chocolate
Note: Kelley’s hands letting the roasted beans fall back into the bean bag (ha!) at the Callier Chocolate Factory. The place is now my official favorite location due simply to the fact that at the end of the tour they take you into a room full of FREE CHOCOLATE SAMPLES. People! The room should be paved with gold and ringed with angels singing “Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!” and there should be dancing and some sort of twinkle lights.
as it is, it’s just a dark room with chocolate under strategically placed lights. But the rest of it might as well have been there because I saw it that way in my head the minute the tables upon tables of chocolate appeared in front of me.
Sooc, I’m check the edits when I get home.

They *might* like each other, sort of, for 5 seconds every day
Note: Elijah’s 6th birthday is on Monday and so we took a few minutes today to take some pictures. We also celebrated with cake and ice cream and presents today since Monday is going to be a fairly hectic day.
Note2: My mom and I were talking in pig latin today in order to “avoid detection” by little ears. When I said something was Upid-Stay, Elijah asked what it meant.
“What do YOU think it means, buddy?”
“Ummm…. Birthday?”
“WOW! you’re so SMART! That’s exactly what it means!”
“Hey Katie! Woopid-Stay means ‘birthday’!!”
Happy Woopid-Stay (observed!), Buddy! Looking forward to the REAL day on Monday!
