Friendly Neighbor Kitty

Note: This is the very friendly kitty who visits us every so often. He likes scratches. He does NOT like the dog.

Zena: Not of the Warrior Princess Variety

Note: We spent Saturday working on my mom’s dishwasher. I DO have a picture of just my mom’s rear end as she bent crazy crooked around the dishwasher attempting to reach something, but I didn’t figure she would necessarily APPRECIATE having her bottom posted in the internet. So instead, I bring to you: My Mom’s Dog.
Note2: That vacant look in her eyes is SO VERY REAL. Somebody’s tree doesn’t go all the way to the top branch.

One of These Beasts Got a Bath Today

Note: I won’t tell you which one, but I’ll give you a hint: The one attempting to guard the treat from the invading infidel.

85mm lens | 1/350 @ f/3.5 | ISO 400
pp: adjusted shadows and contrast in ACR, defog, crisp color boost, resize and sharpen for web

Oh sure, that wasn’t enough a hint, was it, you big whiner… Fine. Here. This is who got a bath:

Note: He’s very very proud of himself. And also probably weighs about 20 pounds less. That is the approximate weight of the amount of fur I brushed off of him this afternoon.

85mm lens | 1/320 @ f/3.5 | ISO 400
pp: defog, crisp color boost, deep saturation boost, high sharpen pass, resize and sharpen for web

One Ear Cocked At All Times

Note: I love how you can clearly see his spooky half-blue eye in this shot. And also that he has that look of anticipation on his face… that comes from the fact that the hand holding the lens is ALSO holding a yummy treat.

16-35mm lens @ 35mm | 1/500 @ f/5.0 | ISO 400

Hidden

Note: Squeek. “hiding”. I believe I have mentioned previously that he, well, he is an idiot.
Note2: See the quilt? My mom made that for me. It took her 28 years. And I was the last relative to get a quilt. Proof that she loves me the LEAST. *sigh*

Shot in Av mode because I had to go FAST here as I knew he’d hop out and want some scratching the minute I showed up. Which is, in fact, exactly what happened as this is the ONLY picture I got before he squirmed out.

85mm lens | 1/30 @ f/3.2 | ISO 1600

Self-Portrait Tuesday: A Girl and Her Dog

Note: Yeah, I took this on Sunday night…. But c’mon! You know you don’t mind looking at THAT pretty sunset again, now do you?
Note2: Peter was VERY perplexed about what exactly we were doing out there in the middle of nowhere. He was EVEN more upset when he stepped on the tiniest piece of Cholla on the ground. Whoops. Poor pooch! He watched where he was going after that.
Note3: Have I mentioned how much I love this state?
Note4: Haha! Lens is STILL dirty. Go figure. Didn’t clean itself in the 45 seconds between shots…. Actually, it’s not clean now either even though it’s two days later.

16-35mm lens @ 16mm | 1/40 @ f/16 | ISO 250
pp: HA! STILL NONE! oh. well. mostly. See, Peter? He wasn’t really looking at me in the original picture, he was looking at the camera. But the NEXT picture he was looking at me because I was doing something really silly. So I sort of stole Peter from that picture and put him in this picture. But other than that? NO EDITING. I love that! (resized and sharpened for web doesn’t count)
