Tiny Dancer

First up, just wanted to say thank you so much to those of you who have left comments or sent emails in the past month! It makes me feel so amazing that you take the time to stop in and see what I’m doing and to say hi and just give a peek into what’s going on in my house here. So thank you very much. *xoxox*

Katie got her first “real” haircut today. She told the salon woman that all of her other haircuts were “homemade haircuts” and this was her first time getting a “storemade haircut” and I about died of the extreme cuteness.

It typical Katie form, she chatted the ear of the poor woman, who in an amazing feat of mental dexterity, almost managed to keep up with the random leaps from one topic to another.

We of course had to document the moment. Which I wasn’t sure I’d be able to do since I, in a moment of exceptional flakiness, left my camera battery charger in New York. hopefully it’s in the mail because I got a new lens that I can’t wait to test out! Hurry up mailman! 🙂

Chucks at a Diner

Standing outside a diner waiting for food. Jamie and I did a little foot-tango. Because Chucks are cool, that’s why. Also because it’s fun to snuggle with people in public. Especially when one of the two people involved says something really loud about how lovely her wife is and how much she enjoys this same position when snuggling in bed at night. that someone might or might not have been me… I’ll never tell.

Lego Advent

I picked up Lego’s 2007 Advent Calendar for supah-cheap after Christmas last year and we’ve been loving it so far. It’s so much fun to see who or what is going to come out of the door each day. Just a little treat, but both the Bug and E-dub are enjoying them all. Katie, of course, insists on playing with hers and taking them apart and putting them back together. E-dub puts his together according to the specific directions and then places them carefully on the mantle next to his stocking holder. How I created two such different beings is still a mystery to me.

Skeletons Because Our Mom is a NERD

The kids are home on fall/winter break (year-round modified school means we get two weeks off about this time of year). In an effort to keep them entertained and me semi-sane, we pulled out the butcher paper (read: went and bought some) and traced the kids. Drew in the bones in the appropriate places and even correctly named them. Then cut them out and hooked them together with brass brads. It’s not a fabulous picture technical/artistic wise, but I hope it helps them to remember the goofy and completely dorktastic things their mom made them do.

Why do I think phalanges is such a fun word to say??

Favorite from a few Weeks Ago

I took a whole bunch of pictures that day of the pink dress shot. This one I both liked and laughed at. Because it looks like she has a halo. And she is most certainly NOT an angel. She is adorable and wonderful and I love her to the moon and back. But she is NOT an angel. She is me. In Mini form. VERY far from angelic.

Anyway. I didn’t take a picture today but thought this one was worth sharing. 🙂
